Agricultural Extension Unit
Emphasizes on providing background information on the importance of agricultural extension in agricultural development to all students of agriculture at the College. The graduates from the College having been provided with the knowledge and skills to facilitate interplay and nurture synergies within a total information system involving agricultural research, agricultural education and vast complex of information providing-businesses can as well serve as Agricultural Extension Officers and Subject Matter Specialist in the Ministry of Agriculture or may be employed in the institutions of agriculture, private and parastatal sectors and non-governmental organizations (NGO’s).
Also in its training effort the unit cooperates with other departments in the Faculty of Agriculture and outside the faculty in training and producing effective and efficient graduates in the field of Agricultural Extension.
The extension unit does not offer single major progarmmes leading to either the award of a Higher Diploma in Agricultural Extension or BSc (Agricultural Extension) at the moment. However, the unit plans to offer single major programmes leading to either the award of a BSc (Agricultural Extension) or MSc (Agricultural Extension) in future. Details will be provided as soon as the programmes start.
