Mission StatementThe Department of Agricultural Engineering and Land Planning (AEL) is responsible for teaching and training students in the physical technologies that provide expertise and technical support to agriculture and allied industries in Botswana. The department provides the required training in the four major components of agricultural engineering, namely, Farm Power and Machinery, Soil and Water, Postharvest Technology, and Farm Structures and Services. Teaching is undertaken at Diploma and Degree levels.
AEL is also responsible for conducting relevant basic and applied research in the four above - mentioned components, and to develop techniques that solve agricultural engineering constraints related to agricultural productivity.
