The College bid farewell to its longest serving Principal
The College community, Governing council, senior officers in the Ministry of Agriculture, Sebele community and friends of Mr Edward James Kemsley witnessed a moving ceremony when staff bid farewell to its Principal.
Mr Kemsley Joined the then Botswana Agricultural College (BAC) in February 1973 as an Instructor; by then he had a Diploma in Agricultural Engineering from the Natural Resources Development College in Zambia. He went for further studies to persue BSc and MSc in Agric Engineering & Mechanization at Western Illinois University, USA in January 1974 to 1976. He was appointed Assistant Lecturer and Head of Engineering section. In July 1984 he was promoted as the 4th Principal of the College, the position he held until his retirement at the end of March 2008.
He witnessed the transformation of the Botswana Agricultural College (BAC) to Botswana College of Agriculture (BCA) in 1991 when Act number 9 of Parliament of Botswana which came into effect on 31 st May 1991formally inaugurated BCA as an associate institution of the University of Botswana and a parastatal under the Ministry of Agriculture.
