The Department of Crop Science Production is made up of seven units, Agronomy, Crop Physiology, Crop Protection, Soil Science,Plant Clinic,Horticulture and Forestry & Range



On-going Research Projects

Breeding blackeye cowpea (Vigna unguiculata (L.) Walp) for resistance to Alectra vogelli (L.) Benth in Botswana. Funded by Research and Publications Committee, RPC, 2004-2008.

Bambara groundnut (BAMLINK PROJECT) Funded by the European Union, 2005-2009.

Characterization and QTL analysis of wild and cultivated watermelons. Funded by the Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST) in collaboration with Department of Agricultural Research (DAR).
