The Department of Food Science & Technology is a newly established department.





FST Degree Programme

Bachelor of Science in Food science and Technology

Objectives of the programme

At the end of the BSc Food Science and Technology programme the graduate should be able to:

  • Apply methods of food analysis to assess composition, nutritive value, quality, safety, and compliance with national and international standards.
  • Apply methods of food processing and maintenance of food quality and safety in food industries.
  • Develop novel food products to meet the commercial needs of consumers.
  • Propose affordable nutrition programmes for both children and adults to fight against hunger, malnutrition, and disease.
  • Develop and maintain small and medium scale food enterprises and industries through self-employment.
